My experience and education range from my homemade hygrometer with a milk carton, human hair and sewing needle when I was a teenager. To more formal education at San Jose State University and my certificate in Meteorology from the USDA. I have held three intern positions from the Sacramental NWS and Air Resource Board. Also an internship with Mike Alger at KTVN Television in Reno. I have maintained tahoerenoweather.com website for more then a decade.
Being a local meteorologist, you won’t be getting a “local” forecast from a forecaster on the east coast. I can provide a more accurate forecast than many of the media for the following reason. I provide a forecast presented directly to you from the raw data provided to the meteorologist. Many of the media don’t have degrees in Meteorology and will get forecasts from a private firm or the government agencies and then pass it on to you. This can lead to poor forecasts due to distortion of the information. Also, my maverick independent style allows me to deviate from the forecast models, especially when they have been incorrect several days in succession. The National Weather Service is limited to deviating from the models very much as they are government agency.
